Introducing the “Days of Inventory” Attribute
Introducing the “Days of Inventory” Attribute
In Q1 2025, we’ll be releasing a new “Days of Inventory” attribute to help merchants optimize their merchandising strategies. This powerful feature will calculate how many days a product has left in stock based on its current sales rate, allowing merchants to prioritize products more effectively in their collections.
What Is the “Days of Inventory” Attribute?
The “Days of Inventory” attribute estimates how many days of stock a product has remaining at the current sales rate. This feature will give merchants valuable insights into when products may run out of stock, enabling proactive inventory management and smarter merchandising decisions.
How Merchants Will Use It:
With this new feature, merchants will be able to:
- Incorporate Days of Inventory into Sorting Recipes: Merchants can use the Days of Inventory attribute to prioritize products with fewer days of inventory left, encouraging faster sales of low-stock items.
- For example: You could move items that are about to sell out higher in collections to create urgency, or deprioritize overstocked items to focus on bestsellers.
- Automate Collection Management: The Days of Inventory attribute can be integrated into managed collections, ensuring that products with low stock are automatically promoted, or moved to clearance collections to maximize sales before they run out.
Benefits for Merchants:
- Optimized Inventory Flow: By tracking how many days remain before products sell out, merchants can make data-driven decisions to promote low-stock items and prevent missed sales opportunities.
- Reduced Overstocking: The Days of Inventory attribute can also be used to prevent over-promotion of well-stocked items, ensuring collections focus on items that require immediate attention.
- Automated Merchandising: With this feature, merchants can automate their merchandising to focus on stock levels, reducing manual interventions while ensuring optimal product visibility.
Looking Ahead:
The “Days of Inventory” feature is slated for release in Q1 2025, and it will be a key tool in helping merchants manage stock and merchandising more effectively. As we continue to innovate, this feature is just one part of our larger mission to help merchants optimize their operations through actionable insights and data-driven decisions.
