Sell-through rate
--

How is sell-through rate calculated?

Sell-through rate is the percentage of available inventory you sold over a period. The formula is:

STR = units sold / (units sold + units still in stock) x 100

If you sold 120 units and 380 remain, your STR is 120 / 500, or 24 percent. A higher STR means inventory is converting quickly relative to what you are holding. There is no universal good number: compare a product against its own history and against similar products in your catalog.

We cover how to use STR for merchandising in more depth in our post on the sell-through rate attribute.
