Product Pinning

Product Pinning allows merchants to fix specific products to designated positions within a collection. Unlike Boost, which applies ranking adjustments globally, Pinning ensures a product stays in a set position in a specific collection, with the algorithm adjusting other product placements around it.

How Product Pinning Works

  • Collection-Specific: A pinned product remains in its designated position in that collection only.
  • Overrides Algorithmic Sorting: The algorithm fills in other positions around pinned products.
  • Consistent Placement: Each time Dynasort updates the collection, the pinned product remains locked in place.

When to Use Pinning

  • Feature Key Products – Ensure top-selling or strategic items always appear in prominent positions.
  • Maintain Brand or Category Balance – Control product distribution within a collection.
  • Combine Manual & Automated Merchandising – Get the best of both worlds with fixed placements and dynamic ranking.

How to Pin a Product

  1. Navigate to the Collections tab.
  2. Select the collection where you want to pin a product.
  3. Locate the product and click the empty pin icon to activate pinning.
  4. Use the drag-and-drop interface to move the product to the desired position.
  5. Click Save, and Dynasort will maintain this placement during future updates.
