Yes. The predictive search dropdown, the suggestions that appear while a shopper types, can be re-ranked the same way as the full results page. With Dynasort, an app embed re-orders the dropdown using your active search recipe, so its few visible slots go to in-stock products your data says are worth suggesting.
Why the Dropdown Matters
The dropdown is the smallest, most contested space in your store. It shows a handful of products, shoppers scan it in about a second, and many never reach the full results page at all: they click a suggestion directly. That means a sold-out product or a weak seller in the dropdown wastes a slot that a proven, buyable product should hold. Default relevance does not consider any of that; it matches text and stops.
How It Works
- One recipe, both surfaces. The dropdown and the results page share the same active search recipe, so the order is consistent and there is one place to tune it.
- One toggle to enable. The live search embed is switched on in the theme editor once; everything afterward is controlled from the app.
- Compact by design. Suggestions render as thumbnail, title, and price, built for fast scanning rather than a mini results page.
- No dead ends. If your recipe hides sold-out products, the dropdown never suggests something unbuyable.
Dynasort re-ranks the dropdown and the results page together. Install it from the Shopify App Store or see the live search setup notes.
