Cyber Monday lands on November 30 this year. As I write this, that is 101 days away.
Starting tomorrow, we’re publishing one conversion tip a day for Shopify stores. One hundred tips in one hundred days, counting down to the biggest sales day of the year. Every tip posts to X, LinkedIn, and Instagram, and every one of them gets added to the index at the bottom of this page.
Who this is for
Shopify merchants and the marketers who work on their stores. If you want to walk into Black Friday and Cyber Monday converting better than you do today, this series is the daily nudge that gets you there. You don’t need a big team or a big budget. Most of these tips take minutes to apply. A few of them will change how you run your whole fourth quarter.
What you’ll get
I work on conversion for Shopify stores every day, and the series draws from all of it:
- Measurement. The numbers that matter, the ones that lie, and how to read them. This is where we start, because you can’t improve what you don’t measure.
- Product pages. Images, copy, reviews, variants, and the details that quietly decide whether the add-to-cart gets tapped.
- Collection pages and merchandising. Sort order, out-of-stock handling, badges, and why the first two rows of a collection do most of the selling.
- Search and discovery. Your highest-intent visitors use the search box. Almost nobody merchandises for them.
- Testing. How to run experiments that mean something, and when to skip the test and just ship.
- Speed and mobile. The fixes that actually move the needle for the customer on a mid-range phone.
- Persuasion psychology. Trust, urgency, and social proof, done honestly.
- AI tools and workflows. Prompts you can copy today, plus how to get your store ready for agentic shopping, where assistants like ChatGPT do the browsing.
- BFCM strategy. Offers, pacing, code freezes, and inventory-aware promotion, timed to when you actually need them.
I’ll recommend specific tools where they’ve earned it, including ones that compete with mine. The tactic always comes first.
How to follow along
Pick your platform: the rolling thread on X keeps every tip in one place, LinkedIn gets a slightly longer take each day, and Instagram gets the card. Or just bookmark this page; every tip is added to the index below as it publishes.
Tip #1 arrives tomorrow, at exactly 100 days out.
The tips, one per day
- Day 1 (Aug 22): You can’t improve what you don’t measure: baseline your CVR, AOV, and revenue per visitor this week, before you change anything.
- Day 2 (Aug 23): Sort order is your silent top salesman: default and “manual” chaos ordering costs real money on every collection page.

- Day 4 (Aug 25): LCP is usually your hero image: fix that one asset before buying any speed app.
- Day 5 (Aug 26): Visitors who use site search convert at a multiple of browsers: measure your own multiple, then treat the search box as a VIP lane.
- Day 6 (Aug 27): Social proof hierarchy: specific beats generic, faces beat logos, numbers beat adjectives.
- Day 7 (Aug 28): A/B testing basics: one variable, a success metric chosen before you start, and the discipline to not peek early.
- Day 8 (Aug 29): Paste your last 200 reviews into an LLM and ask for the top 5 objections and the exact words customers use. Prompt included.
